Our Founder and Current Leadership
Fresh off being named the 2011 Entrepreneur of the Year for Women in Technology, Nicole C. Close let this entrepreneurial spirit and family history lead to her next endeavor. Both her grandfather and father were electricians, and given the lack of available jobs for electricians in the current economy, Close founded Bear Rock Electric, Inc. (BRE) with her husband and Master Electrician, Chris Albrecht, to help create more employment opportunities in the local area. Taking that entrepreneurial spirit and the word of mouth about BRE’s level of excellence, Close expanded her Fleet, Staff and coverage from Maryland to opening a full-service Generac Generator Shop in Point Harbor, NC which services the Outer Banks, Southeastern Virginia, and Northeastern North Carolina. Over the years, Nicole and Chris developed the customer recognition and growth leading to BRE being the only established Elite+ Dealer in Eastern North Carolina and Eastern Virginia.
In 2021, on the 10th year Anniversary of the Company, Nicole passed the reigns of the company to the next generation of the family, Eric K Albrecht, as the new Owner and Operator. Eric joined BRE in 2013 as a generator mechanic and technician after completing his degree in Automotive Technology at Lincoln College of Technology (Columbia, Maryland).
Over the years, while working with Chris, Eric earned numerous Generac certifications, additional generator skills and knowledge, and most importantly developing a rapport with BRE’s customers. Eric quickly advanced to Lead Mechanic for BRE, began managing and leading the Service and Warranty work for BRE, and expressing a keen interest in the business side of things. Continuing in the family business with the same commitment to ethics, code compliance and customer service, Chris and Eric will continue to grow the company, but with Eric pushing BRE into the future. We hope to see one or more of Eric’s three children leading BRE in the next decades perhaps!
Our Company
BRE is an electrical contractor that can meet all your residential and commercial standby power needs. We stress “no pressure sales” but just the highest quality and code compliant service in the business. Bear Rock Electric’s Superintendent holds Master Electrical Licenses in Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and an Unlimited Electrical License in North Carolina.
Along with our experienced electrical workforce we feel that another factor for consideration is the actual size and flexibility of our team. Rather than having large layers of overhead structure that slows down responsiveness, we are literally a small, cohesive entity. It also means that we understand the value of a dollar. We understand efficiencies and will manage our team in the most cost conscious manner. We arrive on time, do what we say we are going to do, and warranty our work for one year.
BRE was established with the foundation and experience that all projects are unique and that communication is a key to success. Our project management strength coupled with our professional workforce provides the reliability and support required to complete the jobs and within budget.
